Abstract

This study aimed to uncover the effect of methods of treating missing values on differential performance of paragraphs and the accuracy of the ability assessment, and the researcher relied on the inductive reasoning test issued by AssessmentDay, 2012). So the researcher translated the tool from its English language into Arabic, then presented the test to (12) arbitrators in educational and psychological sciences, and no item was excluded from the test items because it obtained an agreement rate of (100%) and thus the descriptive validity of the test was verified. A sample consisting of (400) male and female students, chosen in a random stratified method in a proportional manner, and the statistical analysis of the items was carried out based on the monolithic model in analyzing the items of the tool using the statistical program (jmetrik), and no item was excluded from the test by the program and it was found that all the test items are identical After that, the researcher extracted the results according to the approved goals and found that there are no differences in the differential performance of the paragraphs according to the different methods of the missing values (the method of deletion, the method of compensation), and the existence of a statistically significant difference in the accuracy of estimating the ability in favor of the method of deletion and therefore, the compensation method is more Accuracy in the accuracy of the ability estimation from the deletion method, due to the low value of the standard error in estimating capacity, and in light of the results of the current research, the researcher reached some conclusions, recommendations and treating proposals.
