Abstract
The research deals with the effect of the population factor on the efficiency of external land transport routes in the Dhi Qar governorate located in southern Iraq between two latitude (33 30 ° - 00 32 °) north and between longitude (37 45 ° - 12 47 °) east, for the period (2003 - 2019) because external road transport routes in Dhi Qar governorate suffer from the problem of lack of efficiency of external land transport routes, which resulted in secondary problems, including traffic congestion, frequent depreciations and traffic accidents due to the increase in the number of vehicles as a result of the increase in the population, which creates great pressure on roads. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which aims to influence the population factor on the efficiency of road transport methods through population growth, distribution and composition. The data was used for population numbers and lengths of external land transport routes in the governorate as well as data for vehicle numbers. The research found that there is a very strong relationship between population numbers, vehicle numbers and lengths External road transport routes in the province.
