Abstract
The Qarnain and Nabaa basins are located in southwestern Iraq within the Western Plateau and are naturally located within Wadi Al-Batin. The region is topographically characterized by the variation in elevation between its sections, as it generally slopes north towards the sedimentary plain, and surface levels gradually rise as we head from the north and northeast, with the lowest altitude reaching (5) m above sea level, while it ends at the south and southwest direction with the highest elevation ( 280 m above sea level The general gradient rate is 1.8 m / km. Geologically, the area falls within two main units, which are the stable pavement according to the division of (Buday and Jassim), and the unstable pavement unit located in the southern parts of the study area within the sedimentary plain. The region was affected by tectonic movements, so torsional movements occurred in the sedimentary cover
