Abstract
The city of Erbil, like other Iraqi cities, has witnessed an increasing growth in terms of population and urbanization. This has been linked to a number of geographical factors, such as progress in transport and communication, and the expansion of urbanization along the transport routes. The overlap between the two areas has become characterized by the characteristics of both rural and urban in one and at different levels, such as molten villages, conjoined villages, and villages, and within different axes of urban expansion of the city. The characteristics of these areas vary according to different factors related to De mutual influence between the village and the city on the one hand and the distance factor on the other hand.
