Abstract
This research focuses on the challenges facing the BRICS bloc and its impact on defining the future prospects of the bloc, as the BRICS bloc faces as effective forces in the global system a set of challenges that can be divided into three groups, namely the internal challenges: represented by (political challenges, social challenges, environmental challenges) that can affect the role of the bloc in the global system; and interconnected challenges: is how to reconcile the different interests of the bloc members, the most important of which (border problems and regional conflicts between the bloc countries, the different political systems of the BRICS countries, the geographical distance between BRICS countries, the tyranny of the competitive tendency among the BRICS countries over strategic areas, for example, “Central Asia”, the Belt and Road Initiative, China, etc.); and external (global) challenges: represented by the United States of America’s dominance of the world order, which is considered the most important in determining The future of the bloc, and accordingly three scenes were presented in which the roles that this bloc can play in the international system are evaluated in the near future, namely: The first scene: The role of the BRICS bloc has declined in favor of other powers in the international system, the second scene: the rise of the BRICS bloc As an alternative force to Western power in Al-Naza The international scene, the third scene: the BRICS bloc is one of the active forces in a multi-polar global system, and the study concluded that the third scene is closer to verification, as the BRICS bloc is one of the most important poles to lead the next multi-polar global system alongside the United States of America and the European Union.
