التحليل الجغرافي للمحميات الطبيعية المقترحة في محافظة المثنى
Abstract
The present study is based on analyzing the natural geographical potentials in Muthanna Governorate and its suitability for the establishment of natural reserves and their development. The areas studied as nature reserves were of two types, namely, wild reserves. These included three sites in Badia, Muthanna Governorate (Hadaniya, , Rifaiya) in the district of Salman, and the Wadi Al-Dhobaa Valley in the area of Basayeh. The second type was the aqueducts, which included two sites, the Sawa Lake Reserve and a low-lying reserve. She also studied the Western Sawa Wildlife Reserve of the Directorate of Muthanna Agriculture, which includes the animals of deer and ostrich. A geographical survey of biological diversity (plant and animal) has been conducted in these sites for more than two years (2016 - 2017), It has been shown that the study area includes a rich biological diversity in wild plants, which serves as a habitat for many existing animals and even as food for humans as well as the treatment of many diseases, and includes wild diversity of many wild animals, whether birds or reptiles and even wildlife predators such as wolves and hyenas, so these areas deserve to be declared as nature reserves, by the local government in Muthanna province or from the federal government.
