Abstract
The sector was the mainstay of economic life at that time, so British agricultural policy focused power in the hands of the sheikhs in order to extend its control and dominance by expanding the powers of the sheikhs by exploiting their social status to contribute to the consolidation of the status of these sheikhs to strengthen British control of Iraq, its relations with influential tribal sheikhs and loyal agriculturalists, and cut them large areas of land and this phenomenon led to the emergence of the feudal class, and the British advisors were the biggest step and say separation during the duration of the study despite the existence of an official national authority, Any agricultural activity was in the interests of the British, where they focused on the expansion of large commercial farms for the production of cash crops was the direction of the government to grow cash yields such as cotton and linen.
