The desert of Al-Muthanna governorate has a variety of natural characteristics, most notably the astronomical and geographical location, occupies a large estimated area of (46254.5 km2) that is more neighboring than four Iraqi governorates and to have a long international border with Saudi Arabia. The surface features are divided into four sections with different natural shapes, which is the most important of the large amounts of solar radiation and temperature that can be invested economically in the generation of renewable energy as well as the existence of water resources both surface water and groundwater due to the fall of large amounts of rain in some seasons, which contribute to increased water quantities and groundwater recharge. There are also many types of soil that are suitable for cultivating some agricultural crops as well as the presence of stones, rocks and minerals used for various industries, especially construction. Various natural plants are also used for medical, pastoral and encouraging the work of nature reserves. Accordingly, the research comes to shed light on the natural characteristics of Al-Muthanna Desert by providing a set of solutions and proposals where these natural characteristics can be invested in the study area as one of the promising areas for agricultural, industrial and tourism investment. Hoping that the research has contributed to these characteristics and the extent of investment in the economic activity of Muthanna province.
