Abstract
Water resources are the main lifeline of the arid and semi-arid environment. Iraq is located in these areas. Water resources in Iraq faced many threats and many damages. In the second half of the last century, large areas of the Marshlands, half of the water bodies, Water resources of lakes and river water due to the construction of dams and irrigation projects in Syria, Turkey and Iran, where a large proportion of the rural population suffers from scarcity of potable water.
