Abstract
The present study is an experimental research based on a philosophy that our discourses affect the recipients positively and negatively. The speaker should choose a modern strategy very carefully to achieve the intended goals that have been included in his/her speech. This study has focused on the political discourse, which affects the recipient significantly as it can weaken the individual's affiliation to the state while a conscious strategy can strengthen that affiliation. In addition, the role of the speaker, his/her behavior and ethics in accepting or rejecting the speech are very vital. I chose a method based on the power of the speech-act theory and its impact on the behavior of the recipients and their attitudes generally. Moreover, I chose Searle's divisions for the acts of speech. I also chose very valuable texts to apply the theory of speech acts. These are the discourses of praising and criticizing Al-Sihaba in the book of Nahij Al-Balaqa. The study examined the role of the power of speech-act of these discourses in affecting the behavior of the recipients towards the Islamic state and the effect of the speech act strategies in motivating the recipients to follow the instructions of the state. The study has come with some conclusions
