Abstract
The Soviet invasion of Afghanistan in December 27th, 1979, represented a major turning point in the latter's political history that a new chapter was begun in the history of Afghanistan. Many factors prompted the occurrence of this invasion starting with the Soviet Union concluding many treaties, establishing communist organizations loyal to the Soviet Union and ending with the direct military invasion in Afghanistan.
