Abstract
The British agents in Kuwait represented the policy of their government, which requires maintaining their interests in the region. Among those who represented the British policy is the British political agent Capt. G. De Gaury 1936 – 1939. Who has practiced the policy of soft and soft with the Kuwaiti nationalists, especially after he became at dispute with Sheikh Ahmed Al Jaber because of the British policy seeking to increase influence in Kuwait and interfere in its internal and external affairs. Which usually leads to a detraction of the ruler's autonomy and his internal authority. The stalemate between De Gaury and Sheikh Ahmed led to the enthusiasm of the national movement and its national awareness. De Gaury took advantage of this enthusiasm to support the national movement against the ruler. However, after strengthening the national movement and becoming a broad-based authority, De Gaury feared the British interests in Kuwait. He corrected his policy towards it and began to approach Sheikh Ahmad again, who is also thinking of eliminating the national movement as a result of depriving him of his rights to rule the country.
