Abstract
Sanam High is considered one of the unique discovered physical phenomena exposed in Iraq, unlike the detected salt domes in the region which are subsurface structures. It's located in the southwestern part of Basrah city about 8.5 Km to the west of Safwan district near the Iraqi – Kuwaiti borders. A field work to the study area was accomplished; Soil samples were collected for main positive and negative elements analysis in addition to analyzing the heavy ones and studying the results. Arc GIS v.10 and Global Mapper v. 11.02 software were used to obtain the maps and figures represented in the research.An economic importance was revealed through the high study, as for the geographical location it has importance as a natural ingredient and an economic resources, which might be a good investment for Basrah and Iraq.
