Abstract

The Arabs of Arabian Peninsula believed in life after death. This can be clearly realized by the attention they paid to the construction of graveyards and the respect they paid to the bodies of the dead during the pre-Islamic era. They built their tombs to take different shepes such as those carved in the rocks found on the surface of the ground and those built under the ground and embalmed bodies of the deal-to bear witness to this type of belief in life after death. They also had their own organization of dividing graveyards so that every individual could have his own place in Buriad and this used to be accomplished before moving to after life. Besides, environment had its role in determining the shapes of their burial facilities.furthermore, the tomps that were discovered in the noruthpart of Arabian peninsula clearly show the fact that different types of graveyards and ways of burying were widespread.
