الموقف البريطاني من الثورة الإيرانية 1979
Abstract
The research aims to clarify the British position on the Iranian Revolution in 1979. It turns out that the British government was trying to prevent the collapse of the monarchy in Iran, which prompted it not to support the Iranian revolution. This position was motivated by the preservation of its interests in the region on the one hand and the prevention of Soviet expansion on the other hand. However, the British plans did not succeed. The revolution was able to achieve its objectives and the formation of an Islamic government in Iran in 1979. However, the British tried to improve their relations with the new regime in Iran, but their previous policy towards the latter prevented this from happening, as well as different visions and ideas between the new Iranian politicians and their British counterparts
