الأمن الغذائي في مصر: دراسة في الجغرافيا السياسية
Abstract
The issue of food security is one of the most sensitive issues affecting the autonomy and independence of the state. Therefore, the countries have taken every step they can to achieve it so as to rid themselves of internal and external pressures. The aim of this research is to highlight food security in Egypt during the period 2011-2014. While identifying the concept of food security and its dimensions and the detection of indicators of food security in Egypt and the challenges facing it, as well as the development of solutions that can help achieve or at the very least alleviate the problem. The research found that Egypt was unable to achieve self-sufficiency during the study period for some food groups, especially strategic cereals due to a range of natural and human challenges, which requires taking a number of serious steps to face these challenges.
